Rwandans with opportunities to become active citizens through peace building
and development. NAR places a particular emphasis on the youth as the future of
a peaceful society. With nearly 13 years of experience, NAR is one of the
leading national peace building organizations in Rwanda.

enhance citizens’ capacity to analyze the root causes of conflict and
facilitate dialogue among peers in order to generate ideas and activities that

    engage citizens in decision-making processes within their communities and
    to assist them in connecting with key stakeholders and decision-makers
    about governance and rights issues in order to foster a democratic and
    just society.

    strengthen the social and economic agency of citizens so they can take an
    active role in development and the establishment of a just, inclusive, and
    peaceful society.

    promote mutual understanding, respect, and use of conflict resolution
    processes among youth in order to build sustainable peace.

    promote quality research to describe the magnitude, causes, and impact of
    societal problems and to identify, evaluate and document best practices to

Never
Again Rwanda (NAR) runs three core programs – Governance & Rights,
Peace-Building, and Research – which operate in a cross-cutting manner to
contribute to NAR’s vision and mission and to help in realizing NAR’s goals.
Governance
& Rights Program
NAR’s
Governance & Rights program engages citizens, with a particular focus on
the youth, in decision-making processes within their communities to foster a
just and democratic society. The activities in this program promote human
rights and empower citizens to act as advocates for their own rights.
Peace-Building
Program
Peace-Building
program promotes mutual understanding, respect, and use of non-violent conflict
resolution processes among citizens in order to build sustainable peace.
Activities in this program areaimed at informing and educating the society on
how they can effectively prevent genocide and work towards a sustainable peace.
Research
Program
NAR’s
research program collaborates with the Governance & Rights and
Peace-Building programs in a cross cutting manner to support their activities.
The program promotes evidence-based advocacy and supports various stakeholders
to make informed decisions.
  1. Objective
    for assignment.
The
main objective of recruitment of the senior consultantis to work with NAR
Management and board Members to develop a five  year strategic Plan for
the organization.
  1. Qualifications
    and experience
  • At
    least 5 years of working experience in supporting or working with
     NGO’s  in developing  strategic plans and M& E Plans.
  • Knowledge
    and demonstrated capacity to facilitate  workshops aimed at
    developing strategic plans
  • Understanding
    the Theory of Change and Do no harm
  • Excellent
    writing and analytical skills.
  • Fluency
    English  and French is an added advantage
  • A
    Masters or other high qualifications in social sciences is advantageous.
