National University of Rwanda (NUR) Legal Officer Job Vacancy in Huye, Rwanda

The National University of Rwanda wishes to recruit a Legal Officer. The ideal candidate should have significant experience of academic issues. More specifically, the Legal Officer will perform the following tasks:

Key functions:
1. Ensure proper functioning of the Legal office of National University of Rwanda
2. Providing legal advice to the University management

3. Prosecuting complicated cases within the University
4. Liaising with the courts and other legal institutions
5. Liaising with the Government, Ministries and Departments on legal matters
6. Responding to public legal inquiries about the National University of Rwanda operations
7. Representing the Legal unit in various meetings within the University and outside.
8. Representing the University in legal negotiations, mediations and arbitrations
9. Reviewing and proposing the necessary amendments of the regulations related to the National University of Rwanda
10. Approving and drafting legal documents e.g contracts, regulations etc.
11. Educating the University stakeholders on their legal responsibilities and rights through seminars and regular Talk shows at Campus.
12. Handle Human Resources legal issues
13. Performing any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Rector.

Qualifications:
1. A Least a Master’s degree in Law from a recognised university preferably with specialisation in Administrative or Labor law.
2. A good command of English, French would be an added advantage
3. Be or having been member in a Bar association will be an added advantage
4. Capacity of adaptation and integration, sociability, dynamism and self motivation
5. Ability to work hard as well as work in a multicultural environment
