About this job
Key Responsibilities:
• Be charged with newborn integration in the MOH sentinel sites.
• Work with the MOH to ensure that functional newborn health data systems are set up at the MOH.
• Provide assistance to the MOH to develop a national strategy to roll out Helping Babies Breathe (HBB). This includes facilitate national level dialogue with national and international partners to solicit support for newborn health in general and HBB in particular.
• Assist the MOH in developing a national work plan to review and further develop related policies, guidelines, materials, training program, logistics needs, research and phases for program implementation in the districts,
• Assist the MOH in achieving a critical mass of national / district newborn trainers and supervisors.
• Work closely with the Quality Assurance Department at the MOH to establish an effective quality improvement system in newborn health.
• Take part in the setting up and documenting experiences on the Health Passport Handbook (HPP).
• Any other responsibilities as required,
Job requirement
Desired Qualifications
• Degree in Medicine and registered with the Uganda Medical and Dental Practitioners’ Council.
• Post Graduate degree in Health related field preferably Public Health and / or Paediatrics.
• At least three years of experience in coordinating activities of different stakeholders at a national level.
• Demonstrated ability to manage projects from start up to successful completion.
• Experience in Quality Improvement approaches.
• Experience in Clinical training of service providers.
