The Liberia Philanthropy Secretariat (LPS) is the first office of its kind in the world geared towards promoting philanthropy in Liberia.
The office has two main goals:
1. Engage philanthropic actors by encouraging information sharing and collaboration between the Government of Liberia, Foundations, and Civil Society.
2. Expand philanthropic support to Liberia. LPS is based in the Office of the President of the Government of Liberia in the Ministry of State without Portfolio. LPS has gained significant acknowledgements for its program and innovation in the world of philanthropy.

Job Description:
Role: The Development Coordinator will be the lead strategic philanthropic and researcher within the Liberia Philanthropy Secretariat. This includes researching foundations, grant opportunities and other types of philanthropic donations that could benefit LPS and its network. He or She will work directly with the Program Manager to secure funds for the office and outreach for funding on behalf of LPS network. The Development Coordinator will have a supervisory role, ensuring that LPS is current with its annual work plans and long-term strategies. The Development Coordinator reports to the Program Manager and coordinates with staff members. This position is based in Monrovia, Liberia as a consultancy to the Government of Liberia and supported by John Snow Institute, Inc. (Boston, MA, USA). National, regional and international travel will be required. This position is open to Liberian nationals.
Responsibilities: Conduct grant and foundation research. Also research opportunities for philanthropic support to Liberia
• Disseminate grant opportunities to LPS stakeholders
• Maintain and keep abreast of fiscal sponsorship arrangements
• Work with Project Coordinator to identify relevant and strategic projects for LPS to promote
• Work with the Project Coordinator to execute workshops for grant seekers
• Develop documents that can be used for information sharing for Foundations
• Conduct data collection and analysis on foundation giving in Liberia
• Take the lead on Special Projects and initiatives
• Support the Program Manager with the development and execution of the 5 year strategy, annual work
• plans and reports Perform such other duties as thee Program Manager may assign
