description
Applications are
invited from suitably qualified individuals for the position of Group Chief Information
Officer at Letshego Holdings Limited. The position will
initially be based in Gaborone, Botswana but may relate to any of the
subsidiaries of the Letshego Holdings Limited Group.
The overall
responsibilities a
re to set the information, communications and technology
(ICT) vision and direction for the Group in accordance with the Company’s
objectives, Provide overall leadership for the development and implementation
of integrated business and technology solutions for the Group, and build
strategic IT partnerships with business leaders, vendors and customers.
Further, this role will oversee ICT services provided to all internal and
external customers across the organisation.
Requirements
Key
responsibility areas include, but are not limited to:-
- Act as
the lead interface between the business and technology organisation to
ensure that performance and business objectives are met - Aware
of emerging technologies and translate implications of the new technology
into an effective technology vision and strategy - Lead /
influence the development of industry standards and decisions regarding
changes to systems / applications - Determine
governance and organisational structure of technology team(s) - Thoroughly
understand risk / return profiles of each technology when determining an
investment decision - Manage
the technology portfolio in the context of the business strategy - Oversee
management of budgets, costs and resources for the technology organisation - Manage
the portfolio of technology assets by assessment of benefit, risks and
costs in the context of the business strategy - Oversee
highly visible and complex programs at the corporate level - Participate
in the leadership of enterprise-wide information systems activities - Ensure
that contingency and / or continuity technology services remain compliant
with policy and regulatory requirements - Make
high-level sourcing decisions relative to the provision of technology
services and skills in the context of a commercial appraisal of solutions - Establish
strategic alliances with key technology suppliers and business partners - Define
technology and business level policies - Lead
business technology teams to engage business aligned teams, infrastructure
group, and vendors in developing technology / product strategies - Create
business alliances and oversee joint ventures with technology vendors - Collaborate
closely with clients in strategic planning and share accountability with
them for benefit realisation - Select,
develop and motivate a team with the skills to lead, design, develop and
support technology and services that meet business objectives - Manage
and implement programmes addressing changes in the sourcing, career
mobility, career development and reward and recognition initiatives - Lead
the development of guidelines, standards, policies and procedures and
disseminate to technology teams
Experience
should include
- At
least 14 years of technology experience of which at least 5 years have
been in a leadership position with multiple business and technical
processes - Preferred
leadership experience in the Banking Sector with an understanding of
governance and industry standards in technology - Technical
expertise in Infrastructure design, virtualisation, and networking
(WAN/LAN) and security architecture. - Experience
in a complex multi-national/cross broader technology integration projects. - Understanding
of project management methodologies / tools and development of technology
lifecycles - Requires
leadership experience in managing large cross-functional technology teams
and the fl exibility to influence people at a variety of levels internally
and externally - Requires
demonstrated ability to conceptualise, launch and deliver multiple
technology projects on time and within budget - Knowledge
of business and technology trends - Strong
interpersonal / relationship management skills - Results-orientated,
driven to realise business service objectives in the centres. - Assertive
– able to handle and mediate in conflict, stand by
