Learning
for a Sustainable Future (LSF) is seeking Canadian youth (ages 18-30) to act as
ambassadors for LSF’s Our Canada Pr

oject (OCP). Our Canada Project is a call to
action encouraging Canadian youth to engage in “conversations about the
future” and actions that model responsible citizenship. The Our Canada
Project website features an interactive map where students can share their
visions for a more sustainable Canada and action projects they have undertaken,

Ambassadors
will represent LSF to deliver OCP workshops to elementary classes and youth
groups in their community You will be responsible for travelling to the schools
and facilitating one ~1 hour workshop per group designed to promote
participation in OCP. The workshop will include facilitating activities with
students to vision a more sustainable Canada and ideas for undertaking an
action project to achieve their vision. The Ambassador will help students post
their vision and ideas for action on the OCP website.
LSF
will arrange for the school/group visits based on the ambassadors location and
availability. We welcome ambassadors to also identify schools or community
groups they are already involved with or may wish to work with.
LSF
will provide:
  • scheduling
    of presentations
  • workshop
    training
  • workshop
    materials (by mail)
  • $50
    per workshop (compensation for your time and travel costs)
  • a
    certificate of participation and letter of reference detailing your
    involvement
Ambassadors
must:
  • be
    comfortable with public speaking and/or workshop facilitation
  • have
    experience working with children of various ages, especially in large
    groups
  • have
    the ability to travel to nearby schools (either by car, public transport,
    bike, etc.)
  • have
    a flexible schedule to accommodate school hours and youth group meetings
  • attend
    a training session by LSF either by phone, video chat, or in person (GTA
    only)
  • be
    available to facilitate workshops between late September and late October
    2015
