Lead acetate

Lead causes major human health hazard due to its wide distribution in
the environment and in biological systems. It is the most abundant toxic heavy
metal in the world. It is readily absorbed by the body via the primary routes
of entry, inhalation and ingestion (Nicole, 2010).

Lead acetate is a chemical compound that is a white crystalline
substance with a sweetish taste. Like other compounds, it is very poisonous. It
is found in circulatory red blood cells, the liver, and the kidney and bone
tissues. However, excessive exposure to lead will accumulate in the body,
increasing a person overall toxicity load. The liver functions as a filter for
any circulating toxin found in the bloodstream, therefore, the liver will be
susceptible to excessive accumulation of lead in the body (Nicole, 2010).
