Project Authority Housing Complex Ugborikoko. To guide this work, four specific
objectives were drawn for the study which includes; knowing if the problem of
lack of maintenance of drainage system is associated with the behaviour of the
people of Delta Development and
Project Authority (DDPA) Housing Complex ; to
know if the problem of lack of standard drainage system is associated with lack
of maintenance of drainage system; to identify the health implication of lack
of maintenance of drainage system in the life of the people of DDPA Housing
Complex; and to know if negligence of government workers contribute to lack of
maintenance of drainage system. The descriptive survey method was adopted in
this research while the simple random sampling techniques were adopted to
obtain a sample size of 200 respondents from a population of 12,000 persons.
Structured questionnaire and oral interview method were used as instruments for
data collection and data collected was analyzed using Chi-square (X2)
statistical method. The results obtained from the study showed that the
people’s behavioural attitude contribute to lack of maintenance of drainage
system in DDPA Housing Complex and that negligence of government workers
contribute to lack of maintenance of drainage system. It is therefore
recommended that; there should be proper construction of drainages and
government should enforce the relevant regulations which should be enforcing to
