Jhpiego
is an “international non-profit health organization affiliated with Johns
Hopkins University. The MCSP program implemented by Jhpiego and its partners
aims at reducing child and maternal mortality through increased coverage and
utilization of high-impact low cost reproductive, maternal, new-born, and child
health (RMNCH) interventions and innovative approaches and strengthen the
capacity of the Ministry of Health (MOH) to manage and scale up high-impact
RMNCH interventions.

The
Maternal and Child Survival Program (MCSP) in collaboration with the Malaria
and Other Parasitic Diseases Division/Rwanda Biomedical Center will be starting
a health facility based study on efficacy of Artemether Lumefantrine in Rwanda.
Jhpiego Rwanda is hiring the following positions for the Study:

Responsibilities:
  • Monitors
    the progress of research activities; develops and maintains records of
    research activities, and prepares periodic and ad hoc reports, as required
    by investigators, administrators, funding agencies, and/or regulatory
    bodies
  • Oversee
    subject enrollment to ensure that informed consent is properly obtained
    and documented
  • Facilitate
    information exchange among study sites, Mal&OPD and MCSP
    investigators, research subjects or other support system
  • Manage
    study paperwork, electronic correspondence and data.
  • Ensure
    subject safety and provide information regarding adverse events and any
    pertinent information to subjects and investigators in a prompt manner
  • Supervises
    and coordinates the provision of support services to study sites and study
    teams
  • Preparing
    and submitting monthly, quarterly and annual reports;
  • Compliance
    with all Rwanda Ethics Committee and other institutional rules and
    regulations related to research involving human subjects and human
    subject-derived information and materials
  • Ensure
    that study data are collected and kept according the protocol and human
    research subject principles
  • Ensure
    and supervise data entry at all study sites
  • Provide
    biweekly, monthly reports and quarterly reports to supervisors
  • Ensures
    the smooth and efficient day-to-day operation of research and data
    collection activities; acts as the primary administrative point of contact
    for internal research staff
  • Coordinates
    the day-to-day activities of any study staff specifically engaged in the
    carrying out of research protocol, as appropriate to the position
  • Prepare
    for or participate in quality assurance audits conducted by RNEC or other
    regulatory agencies,
  • Prepare
    and coordinate shipment of study blood sample
Required
Qualifications:
  • Being
    Rwandan by nationality
  • Bachelor’s
    Degree in Nursing, Public Health or related health field
  • 4
    – 5 years’ experience in Coordinating/ supervising Clinical research
  • Certificate
    in Good Clinical Practice, Good Laboratory Practice and Human Research
    Subject Principles
  • Having
    a valid license from National Council
  • Ability
    to work in collaboration of the health center where the sites will be
    located and build a good relationship between different teams
  • Proven
    experience in Prevention and Case management of Malaria at Health facility
    level
  • Ability
    to Build and maintain effective relationships, with study teams,
    colleagues, members and external partners and supporters
  • Familiarity
    with Rwanda’s health settings
  • Strong
    oral and written communication and presentations skills in English;
    working knowledge of French and Kinyarwanda is preferred.
  • Strong
    skills in word processing and Excel spread sheets
  • Approachable,
    good listener, easy to talk to
  • Excellent
    computer, writing, analytical, communication, and organization skills
  • Ability
    to travel up to 80% time
