IT TECHNICIAN: HR018
Job Description:
Based out of the Atikokan office, the IT Technician is responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware, software, telecommunications and related infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
– Maintain and administer computer networks and related computing environments,
including computer hardware, systems software, applications software, and all
configurations;
– Diagnose hardware and software problems, and replace defective components;
– Manage and support networking and security services in LAN, WAN and Internet
network infrastructure;
– Install, maintain and upgrade servers, control authorized access;
– Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes;
– Perform data backups and disaster recovery operations;
– Manage and support all telecommunication components (cellular, mobile radio, etc.);
– Create and maintain good technical documentation, along with an inventory of all computers and related installed software;
– Train people in hardware and software system use;
– Maintain log of IT activities;
– Ensure that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related
procedures adhere to organizational standards and values.
Qualifications:
– Post-secondary education in IT;
– A minimum of 3 years experience preferred;
– Prior experience supporting, implementing and/or administering Microsoft Window Server 2008 or 2003;
– Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office;
– Excellent problem solving and analytical skills;
– Ability to communicate with other employees in the company in both technical and non-technical roles;
– Ability to handle highly confidential information/material.
– While relocation to Atikokan is preferred, a rotational schedule would be available.
