The Programmes &
Special Project Manager is a senior level position within the Institute’s
Programmes and Special Projects Department, reporting to the Regional
Director-Africa. The core responsibilities of the Programmes & Special
Projects Manager are to manage the Institute’s ongoing programmes and technical
assistance projects, represent
the Institute at regional meetings and conferences
and write high-quality proposals on behalf of the Institute.
Requirements: The ideal candidate will
have a minimum of a Master’s degree in law or related field from a recognized
institution, as well as relevant working experience in the area of programme
implementation, management and business development, preferably in an
international organisation. The candidate should demonstrate a high level of
organization, flexibility, ability to work independently and adhere to
deadlines, the ability to thrive in a multi-cultural and international-level
work environment, commitment to work extended hours and travel out-of-station,
as necessary, and ability to work collaboratively with a small professional and
administrative team. International experience will be an added advantage. This
position is open to all qualified applicants, although preference may be given
to candidate with residency status in Uganda.
