The IntelliDesign research and development department
consists of a highly collaborative group of designers and engineers. We are
seeking applications from product design engineers and industrial designers
with 2-3 years’ experience to join and support our cross-disciplinary
department.

As an R&D support engineer at Inte
lliDesign you
will assist in tackling product challenges which may arise during any stage of
a project life cycle. A significant part of this role will be analysing product
manufacturing problems and recommending ongoing solutions.
What the job involves:
Initially contribute on small, well defined R&D
support design tasks which are typically part of a larger project. Tasks will
involve both new projects, and the support of existing products. Activities
will encompass many different stages of the product life-cycle, from prototype
assembly, through to design verification and ongoing production support. An
important aspect of this role involves communicating with our manufacturing
partners and suppliers .

Candidates for this role will have the following
attributes:

- Possess a strong understanding of “how
things work” with an innate interest in manufactured articles. - Be able to examine and diagnose the root cause of
a product failure. - Have the ability to form and articulate an
informed point of view around a product problem. - Exercise solid business communication skills.
- Possess a tenacity to tackle a problem and see it
resolved. - Produce accurate technical drawings and
specification documents. - Be willing to take direction and learn from
others. - Embrace company QC systems and processes.
Knowledge and proficiencies required:
- An Industrial Design or relevant Engineering
Degree. - 2-3 years professional experience in a consulting
or in-house environment. - Intermediate level fluency with 3D software
tools. Experience in SolidWorks considered favourably.
