DESCRIPTION OF BUSINESS
IKIREZI Natural Products is an Agri-business
company with experience of about 10 years in Essential Oils sector, it promotes
the production, processing, and marketing of high quality essential oils and
other natural plants products to help generate wealth for small farmers in
order to transform their lives both economically, socially and spiritually.
PRIMARY OBJECTIVES
  • To support IKIREZI Natural Products in
    fulfilling its mission and vision through involvement in planning and
    implementation of activities related to production, processing and
    relationships with farmers’ cooperatives.
  • To support the Managing Director in his
    efforts to move IKIREZI to a long-term sustainable business model through
    effective and hands-on management.
  • To participate in creating and maintaining a
    positive relational culture within IKIREZI where every person is accepted
    and valued.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Lead implementation of land preparation both
    new and from fallow, management of plantlets and crops production, harvest
    and post harvest activities.
  2. Monitor effectively and efficiently the
    maintenance of land in production as well as seeking for the opportunities
    to expand the site he is managing.
  3. Explore the opportunities available in the
    area to ensure maximum production and efficient use and/or acquiring of
    inputs.
  4. Participate actively in short and longer-term
    production forecasting.
  5. Put into place effective control systems to
    measure the conformity to standards and/or agreed levels of input/output
  6. Ensure plantlets, biomass and oil production
    targets are met
  7. Assist in production & processing staff
    recruitments, orientation and training of new staff.
  8. Manage key relationships with farmers’
    cooperatives and local government authorities
  9. Supervise extension agents, distillation
    technicians, and coordinate with Managing Director and Director of
    Operations to ensure efficient operations.
  10. Cooperate with other site managers to exchange
    experiences.
  11. Manage distillation plant use and its
    maintenance as well as other assets at the site.
  12. Identify the needs at the site especially
    inputs and equipments, make the timely request and report their use with
    financial documents in attachment.
  13. Perform other duties and specific projects as
    assigned by the superiors.
KEY WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
  • Internal : Managing Director, Operations Manager, Director of Finance
    & Administration, Secretary Cashier, Extension Agents, Distillation
    Technicians, and other IKIREZI staff.
  • External : Cooperatives of farmers, partners, donors, investors,
    lenders, auditors, government regulators, plant maintenance team, organic
    certification bodies and buyers.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • University degree in Agriculture engineering
    or related field.
  • Minimum three years in production/processing
    management. Production supervisory experience in agri-business preferred.
    Demonstrated research skills a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Mastery of oral and written official languages
    used in Rwanda.
  • At least have attended 3 workshops and/or
    trainings on Essential Oils production or use.
  • Ability to rapidly develop a deep
    understanding of Essential Oils concepts and protocols.

    tasks in an entrepreneurial environment.
  • Flexible to work and/or live in rural area
    without complications.
