behalf of the German government. The program seeks to stimulate the
commercialization of cassava for increased incomes, employment, food and
nutrition security in Malawi through the development and promotion of suitable
technologies. IITA is working closely with Malawi partners to implement
the above mentioned project.

Under the direct supervision of the
Project Coordinator and with technical backstopping from IITA’s M&E team,
the M&E Officer will undertake monitoring and evaluation of cassava
commercialization and value chain development outcomes in terms of income,
employment, and food security. The successful candidate will engage with
relevant stakeholders in the technical and operational design, implementation
and monitoring of the project. Periodic reporting to the donor and
implementation partners will be required on the measured and projected status
of key output and outcome indicators.

Required Qualifications and
Skills:
Skills:
- MSc
in agricultural economics, agribusiness, economics, development studies,
or related social science fields from a recognized university. - Experience
with value chain analysis and development. - Minimum
of 3 years of previous experience in the agribusiness sector (production,
processing and marketing). - Minimum
of 3 years of experience in designing and conducting M&E activities. - Experience
and understanding of data collection and survey methodologies, including
statistical survey methodologies and analysis.
- Demonstrated
ability to prepare high quality project/M&E reports. - Proficiency
with SPSS and STATA. - Excellent
spoken and written English.
Conditions: This
is a nationally recruited staff position and the contracts will be for a period
of two years. IITA offers nationally competitive remuneration packages paid in
local currency.
