The origin of primary health care can be traced to the
1960s. The activities of the “barefoot” doctors in China were instrumental in
the birth of primary health care, as they brought to the fore front, the

The Chinese model of primary health care made used of
young individuals in their early 20s which had undergone a three(3) to six(6)
month intensive medical training in preventive medicine to reach out to the
people in their communities to educate them on how to maintain a good health

which was the capital of the Soviet Republic of Kazakhstan which was attended
by representatives from 134 nations proposed a health plan to keep as many
people as possible health throughout the world through a scheme which is referred
to as the primary health care in line with the Chinese model (with some
modifications based on the peculiarities of different nations).
