We’re looking for a dynamic, full time environmental education leader
to coordinate and deliver our Green Kids and Generation Green
programs.
Our ideal candidate has supervisory experience and a strong
understanding of what it means to provide hands on inquiry based
learning to children and youth. You excel in and outside the classroom
in managing various age groups and learning abilities; have a gre

at
rapport with teachers; and not only understand the changes coming to
Alberta’s curriculum, but how to implement them as well.

As the Coordinator, Green Kids & Generation Green, you are responsible
for the day-to-day operations of programs to ensure effective and
efficient program delivery that meets and/or exceeds the expectations
of the approved annual work plan for the program. Key responsibilities
include:
• Program Delivery
• Deliver education programs to children and youth in schools,
communities, and in house;
• Customize programs slightly to meet unique needs (i.e. ESL, special
needs, etc.)
• Provide teacher development & other environmental education
workshops as requested
• Respond to inquiries from teachers and provide advice on
environmental learning
• Research follow up activities and resources to provide post-program support
• Revise existing programs and implement improvements as needed
• Administration
• Manage the online scheduling system and review incoming bookings
• Manage data collection and provide reporting on a regular and as
needed basis including all KPIs
• Send reminders and feedback emails to educators, community groups
and/or parents
• Source out and purchase program materials to re-stock supplies &
maintain program materials
• Marketing
• Provide website, social media and other marketing/communications
content for both programs
• Correspond with educators and community groups about program
offerings and opportunities
• Coordinate photo, video and other opportunities to feature and/or
promote both programs
• Other projects related to fulfilling the Green Calgary mission
including Rain Barrel Sales & major events
• Management
• Train, supervise & provide performance management for contractors
and/or education volunteers as needed
• Assist in the development of program work plans and budgets
• Provide regular reporting to the Executive Director on the programs
& their deliverables
• Assist with partnerships, sponsorships and grants related to
programs, including reporting needs as required.
• Other duties related and/or complementary to those listed already listed.

Qualifications, Skills & Abilities Required:
• Appropriate post-secondary education (Education, Environmental Sciences,
etc.)
• Passion for the environment, sustainability and educating children and youth
• A valid Driver’s License and access to a personal vehicle
• Strong understanding of Green Calgary personnel policies &
procedures & their implementation
• Passion and patience to work with children and youth within a range of ages
• Flexible, resourceful, highly organized, highly motivated
self-starter that takes initiative
• Experience in developing and implementing hands on environmental
programs for children and youth
• Excellent communication and presentation skills – oral and written.

This is a full time role with a salary range of $42 – 46K and includes
