Free The
Children
seeks an Motivational
Outreach
Coordinator who will be responsible for booking Free The
Children’s professional speakers to deliver motivational speeches to a variety
of youth audiences, engaging them in action for global change throughout North
America. This position resides on the WE Schools Sponsorship Activation team
within the WE Schools Department, which develops and implements unique
programming to engage youth and schools in learning about social issues and
taking action to support the causes they (schools and youth) care about.
Along with
coordinating speakers schedule’s in domestic markets throughout Canada and the
United States, the Motivational Outreach Coordinator holds relationships
between departments and is responsible for meeting goals, and developing and
reporting on strategy in collaboration these departments. Communication,
planning and strategy development is an ongoing expectation and these plans are
altered throughout the year to support the success of the WE Schools program in
North America. The Motivational Outreach Coordinator will support in assisting
in annual goals set by the WE Schools department. The Motivational Outreach
Coordinator will also support the Sponsorship Activation team’s tasks and
upcoming priorities. These include but are not exclusive to administrative,
logistical tasks surrounding WE Schools events.
The Motivational
Outreach Coordinator will report directly to the Sponsorship Activation Manager
in Toronto, Ontario. Free The Children is looking for an excellent communicator
who is able to develop ongoing communication strategy and has strong
organizational skills.

There is a three (3)
month probationary period, upon reaching the three (3) month period, all staff

Responsibilities:
Outreach
- Work
with Sponsorship Activation Manager and Leadership Programs Managers to
implement strategies for filling the yearly calendar of speeches; - Offer
customized speeches and programming to both new and existing stakeholders
when warranted; - Work
with relationship coordinators to extend speaking opportunities to those
stakeholders who warrant them; - Follow
up with contacts to ensure the highest standard of service, including
educators, school board contacts, and community members; - Report
on Motivational Outreach Speech uptake and success in North American
markets to internal teams and Sponsors - Balancing
priorities in all areas of your portfolio including all regions and
communication
Calendar
Planning & Sharing
- Work
with the Leadership Programs Manager and a roster of Motivational Outreach
Speakers to coordinate speaking dates and strategically according to
location, time of year, internal priorities and cost; - Map out
and plan all recipients of speeches for the year, collaborating with other
outreach and speaking tour coordinators to ensure strategic use of
resources and using cost analysis; - Research
school calendars in all markets to confirm days that schools in various
regions may host a speaking engagement; - Update
an internal CRM system, as well as online spreadsheets to track progress
of Free The Children’s roster of speakers and share information as needed;
- Coordinate
and liaise with multiple departments within Free The Children on a daily
or weekly basis;
General and
Administrative
- Develop
template emails for offers, confirmations and contracts that will aid in
the efficiency of follow up and pitching throughout the year; - Manage
the calendars for several speakers on the road at one time including
scheduling, material production, outreach and follow up; - Update
the Sponsorship Activation Manager, Leadership Programs Manager, Associate
Directors and Directors when warranted using an exceptional understanding
of the speaking calendar; - Report
and track internal and external deliverables; - Help to
create weekly, monthly and annual speaking reports – as necessitated by
time of year; - Collect
and manage feedback from engagements at end of year and report on this; - Collect
and manage informational reports from educators to ensure relevant
speaking content; - Ensure
speakers’ well-being by booking the calendar in such a way for them to
have time for administrative duties and rest; - Create
and organize necessary materials when applicable; - Work on
a host of applications (docs, calendars, spreadsheets), to allow for
adequate sharing of information with the many staff members involved with
Free The Children outreach.
Skills and
Qualifications:
The interested
candidate to the position will require the following skill set:
- Possess
a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Political Science, International
Development/Relations, Communications, Logistics or another relevant
field; - Professional
work experience preferred; - Background
or professional experience in marketing or sales is an asset; - Passion
and commitment for problem solving; - Strong
organizational skills with an ability to create personal organizational
systems to balance tasks assigned; - Passion
and talent for event management; - Able to
multi-task, work efficiently and effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced
environment; - Able to
engage others with exceptional oral and written communication skills; - Proficient
use of MS Office programs and experience with database management; - Able to
analyze and adjust work procedures for maximum efficiency; - Possess
the creativity and courage to challenge conventional practices and develop
innovative strategies; - A
self-starter with a high level of motivation and an ability to thrive with
minimal supervision; - Dependable
to follow instructions as well as take responsibility for their actions
and keep commitments; - Able to
work well as part of a team by being open minded towards the ideas and
views of others, giving as well as welcoming feedback, contributing to the
department’s team spirit and supporting other to succeed; - Positive
and professional attitude; - Interest
for human and children rights issues at local, national and international level;
- Willingness
to carry out a range of administrative tasks; - Willingness
to support on tasks and events within the Sponsorship Activation team
which can include travel - Driver’s
License an asset (Ontario G Class or equivalent); - Must be
eligible to work in Canada
