POSITION SUMMARY
FH Association Rwanda is looking for a Program Director. This is a senior level position responsible for all programming development in FH Rwanda. The PD will serve to guide all donor programs in FH Rwanda. He/she will be part of the Senior Leadership Team of FH Rwanda and is expected to be an active contributor to the overall management of FH Rwanda.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but not limited to the following:
Key Result #1: Provide strategic leadership and management of FH Rwanda programs
• Provide support to financial management of programs to ensure well functioning linkages between programs and administration and Finance;
• Provide leadership to and management of any programming in FH Rwanda, including timing of interventions, program design, targeting, securing of resources, implementation and reporting.
Key Result #2 – Increase funding portfolio (proposal development, networking, and fundraising)
• Develop and maintain close ties with primary donors to represent our programs and secure funding
• Lead program design and write grant proposal development for FH Rwanda especially in agriculture and nutrition, community development, education, health and micro enterprises development programming and grant resources for HIV/AIDS in different areas of Rwanda;
• Represent FH Rwanda programs to the Central Government, Local Administration, INGO’s Network and other parties.
QUALIFICATIONS
• To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty/function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
• 3 years of experience working at a senior management level (Program Director and/or Country Director) with internationally funded programs;
• A Masters degree in health, agriculture, economics or related field (note 5 years of relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a masters);
• High degree of fluency in both written and spoken English and working French;
• Successful experience in grant proposal preparation and writing, especially for USAID and other government donor agencies;
• Strong knowledge of monitoring and evaluation system;
• Ability to read and apply government program proposal and report guidelines and regulations;
• Knowledge of US, Switzerland and Canada’s government financial and commodity regulations including program management and reporting;
• Strong people skills and Proficient in MS Office Suite;
• Ability to travel to rural areas and work away from the city center up to 30% of time;
• Excellent proficiency in spoken and written English. Working knowledge in French is desirable.
• Christian commitment to serving the poor and full agreement with Food for the Hungry’s Christian foundation and beliefs as expressed in our Vision, Mission, Values (VMV) and Envision 2020 Strategic Plan.
• Experience or working knowledge of child sponsorship programs
