Fellowship for Sustainable Cup Challenge in Germany

The DO School is offering fellowship
 for highly motivated and talented emerging social entrepreneur in
Germany. Applicants must be between the ages of 18 and 28. Good knowledge of
English is required. Applicants must demonstrate determination, good ideas, and
the willingness to use our program to start up new or grow existing ventures. Fellowship
covers cost for travel to the DO School and for their living and accommodation
costs, Internet bursary. Application must be submitted online.

Study Subject(s): The program
will teach the fellows about creative ideas on how to tackle environmental
problems with sustainable products and design at the DO School in Germany.
Course Level: The DO School offers a unique one-year educational program enabling talented emerging social entrepreneurs to launch their own innovative and sustainable ventures.

Eligibility:-The DO
School invites applications from emerging social entrepreneurs aged 21 to 28
from around the world, with relevant interest and skills to respond to this
Challenge and a venture idea they want to start in their home country.
-A maximum of 20 Fellows from fields including product design, campaigning and
branding, as well as environmental activism, recycling and waste management
will be selected for the DO School Sustainable Cup Challenge.

: International applicants are eligible for this
fellowship.
Scholarship Description: Every day in New York City, millions of plastic and paper drink cups
are used and thrown away – posing a serious problem to the environment and
waste management alike. In response to this problem the DO School is calling
for applications from international participants to develop and present a
sustainable ‘to-go‘ cup, as well as a related infrastructure and campaign, for
New York City. This Challenge is given in collaboration with New York City’s
Office of Long Term Planning and Sustainability. DATES Incubation Phase, on the
DO School pop-up campus in New York City USA: mid February 2014 to early May
2014 Implementation Phase, in the Fellows’ home countries: May 2014 to mid
February 2015 POTENTIAL FOR IMPACT The Implementation Phase – the second phase
of the DO School program – focuses on the venture implementation in Fellows’
home countries. During this ten months phase, each Fellow works on starting up
their venture supported by the Venture Lab, which is delivered online through
the DO School Cloud. This is when Fellows start to create real social change in
their communities.
Number of award(s): A maximum of 20 fellows are selected.
Duration of award(s): The year long program takes place in two phases, the ten-week
Incubation Phase on campus and the ten-month Implementation Phase in the
Fellows’ home countries.
What does it cover? The DO School offers financial aid on a need-blind basis to those
Fellows who are accepted into the program but cannot raise enough money by
themselves to cover their costs for participating in the Fellowship.
For the Incubation Phase, Fellows can apply for aid
to cover the cost of travel to the DO School and for their living and
accommodation costs. You can apply by filling out the additional financial aid
form during the application process. If you are accepted into the program a
financial aid offer will be made based on the individual financial
circumstances of the applicant. During the Implementation Phase, all Fellows
are expected to cover their own living expenses in their home countries. Small
bursaries are available for those who lack the means to go online in order
participate in the online learning component. Application for internet
bursaries takes place after successful completion of the Incubation Phase.
Financial Aid at a glance During Incubation Phase: Need-blind financial aid to
help with the costs of travel, living, and accommodation based on individual
circumstances. Application through financial aid form as part of the normal
application process.
During Implementation Phase: Internet bursary for
those who otherwise lack the means to participate in an online learning
program. Application after Incubation Phase.
Notification: If your
application passes the first selection round, you will be invited for a Skype
interview for the second round. All applicants will be notified, whether
successful or not.
