Description:
You’re confident, creative, experienced and highly talented with fire in your
belly – all the attributes of an incredible Media and Promotions Coordinator.
You are just the person to drive the publicity campaigns for Falls Brook Centre
and Falls Brook Centre programs and activities. We are looking for someone who
has creative drive, innovative ideas and can meet the needs of the various
departments and projects at the centre on time and with attention to detail.
This position will involve working directly with staff to design and implement
creative, dynamic multimedia promotions, resources and educational tools.
You can look forward to projects that endorse and celebrate Falls Brook
Centre’s main programming areas which support sustainable community
development. Your up-to-date skills in digital and print advertising and media
relations as well as the beautiful and meaningful work you create will be valued.
Your ability to collaborate with a diverse team of programming staff with be
encouraged. Your ability to discern priorities, establish tasks to be
accomplished, and carry out your work with minimal supervision will be
essential.
Responsibilities:
You will be responsible for planning and enacting public outreach campaigns
designed to create and maintain a favorable public image for FBC, and to create
tools to educate stakeholders and the general public about projects and events
in the following ways:
Website and social media
– Creating and keeping up-to-date all event listings, promotional and other
content for Falls Brook Centre’s website and current social media sites,
– Seeking new and relevant web-based options for publicity.
Newsletter
– Creating and circulating digital quarterly newsletters,
– Soliciting content from staff and appropriate sources.
News media
– Seeking out and contributing FBC stories, articles and promotions to a wide
variety of news media locally and throughout the Maritimes (including verbal
interviews)
Event Promotions and Educational Deliverables
– Creating promotional and educational materials for print (posters, brochures,
signage) and internet.
– Updating and revamping Falls Brook Centre materials
Skills and Job Requirements
• Experience using current software to create appropriate digital and print
materials
• Excellent communication skills (written, oral, and visual)
• Adaptable to the stylistic needs of the task at hand
• Computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite, social media, WordPress)
• Post-secondary training
• A passion for your work and a sense of humour
Eligibility
Applicants:
• Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
• Must be unemployed, underemployed or working less than 15 hours per week.
• Must be a resident of New Brunswick.
• Individuals must be between 18-29 (at least 18 years old but less than 30
years old at the time of application).
• Must be a graduate of a recognized post-secondary institution within the last
four years.
• Have not previously participated in a Youth Employment Fund placement.
This is a full-time, 6 month position with the likelihood of extension.
Bilingualism (English and French) is preferred. The Media and Promotions
Coordinator must be able to travel to Glassville on occasion throughout the
contract period.
