About
the Organization:
Founded in 2000, EEON came into being in order to raise the profile and
increase the effectiveness of environmental education in Ontario. Through work
with diverse groups across the province, we developed a strategic plan for
achieving this goal in various settings: in our schools, communities,
businesses, and homes. Our advocacy work has supported advancements in Ontario
curriculum and Ministry of Education policy, but we know there’s still a lot of
work to be done. We are currently working toward a comprehensive “environmental
education report card” that assesses the strengths and gaps in environmental
education across the province. As a small, nimble, and entirely volunteer
charity, we are continuously working on building capacity and increasing our
profile.
