EMBARQ India Associate Research and Practice Social Entrepreneurship Job Vacancy in Mumbai

Responsibilities:
• Creatively connecting “privately owned public transport”, “social enterprise”, “technology”, “urban poor”, ”access to livelihoods” and “new mobility” to transform the urban transport landscape in India
• Designing and organizing summits to bring together potential entrepreneurs, investors, and technology providers in the area of non motorized transport in India.
• Organizing collaborative design sessions (‘charette’) in target cities where government officials, entrepreneurs and civil society work together to better understand each other’s roles in system design and implementation.
• Engaging media outlets through interviews and events.
• Conducting online outreach through blogs and social networks
• Producing high quality publications for distribution
• Independently manage multiple such projects in the Intermediate Public Transport, Public Transport, Non Motorized Transport domain
• Interact multiple partners and / or stakeholders
• Participate actively in EMBARQ India’s ambitious and innovative growth strategy.
• Build and maintain strong network and relationships with key institutions, stakeholders and colleagues throughout India
• Organize, facilitate and/or attend events that are relevant to EMBARQ’s India program and the EMBARQ Asia network on an as needed basis

Qualifications:
• 2-5 years experience of working with investors, funding catalyst (incubators) organizations or in an startup with exposure to facilitate funding opportunities
• Degree, in planning, engineering, architecture or related fields.
• Post Graduate/Master’s degree in Business (MBA), Transport Planning , Traffic Engineering, Urban Planning, Urban Design, Architecture or equivalent.
• Proven track record of managing staff and partners and other diverse stakeholders on complex projects
• Be willing to work in start-up environments, and on projects that have ambiguity.
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Good computer skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) and the Internet.
• Capability to learn and use software applications for budgeting, financing, and reporting that are used by EMBARQ and WRI
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English. Hindi and other Indian regional languages skills will be beneficial.
• Detail-oriented, highly organized
• Ability to juggle multiple priorities and work under pressure with tight deadlines
• Commitment to EMBARQ’s mission as well as WRI’s mission and values.
• Passion for and commitment to sustainable transport and urban development.

Salary and Benefits: Depending on qualifications and experience
