Job Summary:
The role of the Product Specialist is to provide superior customer service and
technical support to external customers. The Product Specialist will work with
the Engineering staff to develop and maintain the technical literature and
customer support material.
The candidate must demonstrate technical and scientific competency and strong
interpersonal communication skills with the ability to build customer
relations. The candidate must have the ability to learn and adapt quickly.
Extensive training will be provided. Prior HVAC experience is preferred but not
required. The position consists of a combination of task oriented duties
requiring strong time-management, and customer service interactions, with
team-based problem solving.
Hours of operation: 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with 1/2 hour lunch. Flex hours
available.
Essential Functions: Duties and Responsibilities
• Provide technical support to customers for both troubleshooting and sales.
• Communicate technical information, concepts, and solutions in a professional
yet “consumer friendly” manner.
• Establish, maintain, and improve customer relationships.
• Continuously train to become an expert in the installation, application and
service of Ecologix equipment.
• Make occasional site visits for troubleshooting and to act as technical
support for customer sales staff.
• Actively participate in the new product development process; perform research
and testing as needed. Work closely with Engineers on managing and documenting
the product development process.
• Perform heat loss/heat gain calculations, equipment sizing/selection, and
duct design for customer sites. (Training will be provided.)
• Create and compile technical documentation for both internal and external use
(troubleshooting guides, installation manuals, spec. sheets, etc.). Writing
ability and ability to interpret and simplify complex technical instructions
required.
• Conduct technical training for specific products, and document all training
procedures for internal and external use. Presentation and training
facilitation skills required.
• Stay abreast of the latest industry /technology trends.

Education:
College degree in Engineering Technology or University level Science Degree
Experience:
0-3 years experience using computers and/or analyzing data
Certifications and Licenses: (Preferred)
HRAI Certificates (any)
Manufacturers Training: Boilers, Radiant Heating, Heat Pumps, HVAC Controls,
etc.
Competencies (skills, knowledge, and attributes):

• Good working knowledge of computers, their related hardware, and software
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to translate
technical jargon into “consumer friendly” language

• Strong technical understanding or practical working knowledge of HVAC Systems
/ Hydronic Systems an asset
• Basic knowledge of metal duct work, and mechanical systems design an asset.
• Bilingualism an asset (English /French).
