Position: Canada
Summer Jobs Student Position
Organization: Earthroots
Location: Toronto, Ontario
Earthroots is a grassroots non-profit environmental organization
dedicated to protecting wilderness, wildlife and watersheds, through
research, education and action. We are currently seeking two outgoing,
responsible, environmentally-minded people to join us this summer.
You will work primarily with the canvass team, engaging people in
Toronto to raise awareness about the organization and our campaigns,
get petitions signed, and ask for financial support. Other days you
will go to schools and community events, or help us research and plan
Earthroots’s work. You will gain a lot of insight into the
inner-workings of a small environmental group, and environmental
issues in Ontario.
No previous experience required. To be eligible to participate in the
CSJ initiative, individuals must:
• be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment;
• have been registered as full-time students in the previous academic
year and intend to return to school on a full-time basis in the next
academic year;
• be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee
protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee
Protection Act3; and,
• be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant
provincial/territorial legislation and regulations.
This is a paid part-time position involving a variety of
responsibilities, for all of which you will receive $13.50/hour.
