The Opportunity
Ducks Unlimited Canada (DUC), the lea
der in wetland conservation, is looking
for an exceptional communicator to join our team for an 11-month term position.
As a Marketing and Communications Specialist for DUC, you will build
communications plans and provide marketing and communications materials to the
provincial conservation team in Saskatchewan.
You are a self-motivated, energetic collaborator who thrives in a fast-paced
environment. In addition to possessing strong organizational and interpersonal
skills, you have demonstrated expertise in applying communications and
marketing theory, methods and techniques in support of strategic internal and
external communications planning.
You are a creative problem solver with an ability to work cross-functionally
and proactively identify areas where support can be provided. Attention to
detail, ability to meet deadlines, the capacity to handle a high volume
workload and strong project management skills are vital in this role.
Your minimum five years of directly related experience will make you the ideal
candidate for this position. Your ability to see the bigger picture will make
you a great asset to our team!
Requirements
• A degree or diploma with a focus on communications and/or marketing.
• Excellent writing, editing and proofing skills.
• Ability to develop a variety of communications materials for various mediums
(i.e. advertisements, brochures, posters, TV ads, flyers, media releases,
etc.); experience in policy writing would be an asset.
• Experience with external communications and media relations.
• Web writing experience and knowledge of social media.
• Must have a passion for conservation, the environment, and the outdoors.
• Previous experience working for a conservation organization would be considered
an asset.
