Drinking water quality control

This
is water test conducted on routine basis by the water unit to ensure that water
supplied to the consumer meet laid down standard.
Drinking water quality assurance:- This means the minimum requirement
regarding analytical methods, sampling, procedures, calibration procedures,
quality control, prevention, maintenance and record keeping procedure that a
laboratory has to comply with for a reliable and accurate results.

Contaminant:- This is a substance that are produced
by man or naturally that are found in water where it should not be or in amount
greater than it should be.
Indicator organisms:- These are bacterial coliforms which
when found in water indicates faecal pollution of water, e.g. E. coli and
streptococci.
