Services business is one of the largest non-government owned road services
businesses in Australia. We operate from a network of over 50 depots and
maintain more than 40,000 km of road. Our Business is involved in many exciting
ventures within the civil road industry throughout the country.
An opportunity has
become available within Downer’s National Research & Development
Laboratory, this is a unique opportunity to join an industry leader and take on
a senior role within our R&D team. We are currently seeking a commercially
astute Laboratory Manager to drive multiple national R&D projects whilst
leading and inspiring our team members. You will assume a prominent role in
maintaining compliance with NATA and internal quality systems as well as
oversee, review and implement strategies, standards, policies and practices to
ensure services are delivered consistently and with integrity.
You will have a
strong understanding of executing project compliance as well as managing the
operational costs of a laboratory in line with budget expectations.
Ideally this role is
suited to candidates with 10 years Laboratory Management exposure within the,
Petrochemical, Oil&Gas, Biomedical or Pharmaceutical sectors.
About
You
· Tertiary level
qualifications in Science, Biochemistry/Chemistry, or similar coupled with
exposure to running a Laboratory.
· You will have
exposure maintaining compliance in a NATA or ISO accredited Lab.
· Strong Leadership
skills with a demonstrated track record of developing teams to achieve
outstanding results.
· The ability to
think strategically with strong financial planning and budgeting skills.
· An understanding
of the relevant OHS/EHS legislation and a commitment to upholding Downer’s Zero
Harm philosophy.
· Experience in
presenting to industry forums and key stakeholders.
· Strong analytical
and planning skills as well as able to prioritise workloads and add value in a
team environment.
· Demonstrable
exposure of delivering transformational change and continuous improvement in
organisations.
