Director of Development Job Vacancy in London

A co-educational Independent School for 800 pupils aged 11-18. Founded in 1561 and celebrating its 450th anniversary this year.

KGS has a successful track record of fundraising from parents, alumni and friends, all of whom have shown their commitment to the first-class education that we provide. With the recent arrival of a new Head, the School now seeks to build on this base with the appointment of a Director of Development to play a key part in helping to shape the future of KGS. The role will provide leadership and management of the Fundraising, Alumni Relations and Events team and will have a significant input to all communications at the School.

In the immediate short-term, the Director of Development will work closely with the Chair of Foundation to support established plans to conclude our 450th anniversary campaign. As they do so, the successful candidate will begin the work of building longer-term relationships around the School’s future vision, both with prospective major supporters already known to us and with others as we identify them. He/she will therefore work closely with senior colleagues and volunteers, especially the Head, Bursar, Chair of Foundation and Governors, and play a leading role in shaping the School’s vision for the next ten years and beyond.

This is a senior-level executive appointment. The successful candidate will have strong management abilities and a track-record in delivering successful projects. Previous experience of fundraising is highly desirable. Experience of working within the education sector would be an advantage.
