Job Title: Financial Analyst- 16 Month
Contract (Maternity Leave)
Reports to:
Manager, Accounting & Financial Analysis
Location:
Brookfield Place, 181 Bay Street. Toronto, ON, Canada
Description: The Financial Analyst will
be responsible for revenue, accounts receivable and costing tasks for Family Channel,
Disney Junior and Disney XD.
Required
Skills & Qualifications:
- Currently
pursuing a recognized accounting designation (CGA, CMA); - Minimum
3 years’ experience in a general accounting setting; - Strong
verbal and written communication skills; - Excellent
organizational, interpersonal skills and effective time management ability
and work accurately with minimal supervision; - Ability
to work in a fast-paced environment; - Previous
experience in broadcasting industries would be an asset; - Proficient
with Microsoft office suite of products; - Great
Plains experience an asset.
Position
Responsibilities:
Revenue and
Accounts Receivable
- Recording
of BDU revenue and cash application; - Month-end
reconciliation and analysis; - Collections
of delinquent BDU accounts; - NAA
contract administration; - Ensure
remittance/contract compliance, investigating subscriber variances; - Perform
and distribute monthly subscriber reports and commentaries; - Analysis
of subscriber reporting, trends and discrepancies; - Coordinating
and evaluating cable audit results; - Handle
and resolve queries from Affiliate Sales team and management; - Other
duties as assigned.
Costing
- Processing
of all programming deal memos, liaising with Programming and Legal
departments; - Track
payables for license payments, setting up payment schedules for the month,
liaising with producers; - Prepare
monthly costing, ensuring accuracy, investigating variances to budget; - Ensure
programming assets and liabilities are properly recognized and tracking
prepayment of titles; - Monthly
reconciliation of programming assets and liability accounts for all
networks; - Assist
in the annual budget process; - Other
administrative duties, as needed.
