package FNSP (Food and Nutrition Security), a programme of the special
initiative “One World – No Hunger”, To improve the food and nutrition
situation, especially for women and children under 5 and primary school
children in Dedza and Salima, To support the coordination of the implementation
of
the activities of the global programme on FNSP in close collaboration with
bilateral GIZ programmes on Basic Education, Nutrition and Access to Primary
Education (NAPE) and Health
Contribute to the coordination of all Programme activities within the Malawi
country package in collaboration with the Team Leader, Contribute to the
advice of collaborating partners and the District Authorities in Dedza and
Salima with regard to the planted activities, Contribute to ensuring the
sustainable continuation of specific multi-sectoral services to improve the
food/nutrition and health situation of the rural population, Assist the Team
Leader in advising the District Council to build an sustain a nutrition
coordination mechanism to ensure the sustainable cooperation between various
stakeholders(government and non-govtmental), Contribute to the planning,
organisation and implementation of human capacity development measures for
representatives of relevant ministries and also for non-govtmental players,
such as workshops and trainings as necessary, Cooperate with the Programme’s
Development Advisors based in the Districts for M&E, support the
collection of baseline data and gather and analyse data relevant to the
FNSP, Participate in team meetings, relevant nutrition security/resilience for
a, conferences etc as requested by the Team Leader, Assist national and/or
international consultants during their missions to Malawi and the Districts as
requested by the Team Leader, Develop and implement tools for results-based
monitoring of the programme progress and achievement based on the global
M&E framework for FNSP, Support and guide data collection in the field in
coordination with relevant stakeholders (regional and local authorities:
private stakeholders, Support the implementation and coordination of data
collection, processing and evaluation for the baseline-study and constant
follow up studies, Support with collating progress data and presenting them in
a timely manner in line with reporting schedules and as need arises, in the
course of program implementation, Support with responding to
request from the global M&E Unit in Germany in a timely manner,
Provide relevant inputs for reporting, Undertake any other additional duties at
the request of the Team Leader
A Masters degree in Health, Nutrition, or Agricultural Science or any other
related field
Sound knowledge on nutrition landscape in Malawi, Familiar with SUN initiative,
Experience in nutrition education interventions (sensitive and specific), Sound
and proven knowledge and experience in M&E, Human Capacity Development
Knowledge and experience, Good planning and management skills, Able to work
independently, At least 6 yrs professional working experience in international
development cooperation
Excellent writing skills and strong analytical skills, Good knowledge of
computer applications, Sound knowledge of Gender core competencies, Fluency in
written and spoken English and knowledge of local languages of the programme
area
