Job
Summary
To manage all functions related to the effective operations of the
Metallurgical Ore Processing Plant through the application of appropriate process,
maintenance, safety and environment.
Requirements
Minimum
Requirements
- Degree or equivalent
qualification in Mineral Processing, Chemical Engineering, Metallurgy or
related field - Eight years post
qualification experience, including at least 3 years at managerial level
in a Ore Processing Plant
Key
Activities
- Analyses the divisional
area’s financial needs to develop a budget and ensures sufficient
financial resources to meet business needs - Initiates and directs
the implementation of medium to long term operational and maintenance
plans by: - Developing ore treatment
and plant maintenance requirements - Setting performance
standards and requirements based on the ore processing plan - Monitors and reviews the
effectiveness of operational and maintenance plans to consistently achieve
production targets - Optimises the
utilisation of resources to meet requirements of operational and
maintenance plans - Interprets and develops
treatment plant production and efficiency objectives to support the
overall departmental objectives - Initiates and
coordinates implementation of policies, procedures and practices to enable
sustainability and achievement of organizational objectives - Reviews and monitors
plant performance and provides guidance to ensure sustainability - Assesses opportunities
to improve operational processes and systems, in line with defined
standards - Initiates and
coordinates the implementation of projects in accordance with project
management principles - Manages the control
environment in line with Diamond Control guidelines and corporate
governance - Manages plant sectional
diamond control team functions in line with industry best practice, mine
policies and procedures - Manages and coordinates
the implementation of Safety, Health and Environmental programme in area
of responsibility
