Research question I
What is the knowledge base of the students on
prostitution in Ofuoma community?
Research hypothesis I
There was no significant relationship between
knowledge and prostitution among students in Ofuoma community.

The questionnaire items 1-4 below were generated to
elicit responses from the respondents on the above hypothesis.

The above table shows that 40 (33.3%) of the
respondents agreed that sexual intercourse is adventurous to the students while
80 (66.7%) of the respondents disagreed in the item I, the item 2 shows that 45
(37.5%) of the respondents agreed that students react carefreely to sex related
issues while 75 (62.5%) disagreed in the item II, the item III shows that 78
(65%) agreed that prostitutes are only found in brothels and hotels while 42
(35%) disagreed in the item III, the item IV shows 73 (60.8%) of the
respondents agreed that having multiple sexual partners is not regarded as
prostitution while 47 (39.2%) disagreed on the item IV.
The analysis of the result above shown that the
respondents that agreed with the research on the tables

The above table shows that 73 (60.8%) of the item V
respondents agreed that peer group could influence a student into prostitution while
47 (39.2%) disagreed on the item V the item VI shows that 66 (55%) of the
respondents agreed that inadequate knowledge on sex education could causes
students prostitution while 54(45%) disagreed on the item VI the item VII shows
that 88 (73.3%) agreed that poverty among students could lead to prostitution while
32(26.7%) disagreed on the item VII the item VIII shows that 95 (79.2%) agreed
that the sexual adventurism could lead to prostitution while 25 (20.8%)
disagreed on the item VIII.

The above table analysis of item IX shows that 35
(29.2%) of the respondents agreed that prostitution affects the academic
performance of students while 85 (70.8%) disagreed on the item IX below, the
item X shows that 40(33.3%) of the respondents agreed that the adverse
influence of campus prostitution is of negative while 80 (66.7%) disagreed on
the item X below. The item XI shows that 65(54.2%) of the respondents agreed
that campus prostitution can lead to spread of diseases and death while
55(45.8%) of the respondents disagreed on the item 11 below. The item XII shows
that 71(59.2%) of the respondents agreed that prostitution can lead to low
self-esteem among students in campus while 49(40.6%) disagreed on the item XII
below. The analysis of the result above shows that the respondents that agreed
with the research questions are higher than those that disagreed on this table.

The above table analysis of item 13 shows that
63(52.5%) of the respondents agreed that effective sex education programme can
eradicate campus prostitution while 57(47.5%) disagreed on the item 13 below.
The item 14 shows that 81(67.5%) of the respondents agreed that religious
leaders can help in organizing seminar for all youths on campus from time to
time while 39(32.5%) disagreed on the item 14 below. The item 15 show that
35(29.1%) of the respondents agreed that students should be conscious of the
type of friends they make on campus while 85(70.8%) disagreed on the item 15
below. The item 16 show that 100 (83.3%) of the respondents agreed that proper
upbringing at home and parents involvement in child’s welfare in school can
help to curb prostitution on campus while 20(16.7%) disagreed on the item 16
below.        
The analysis of the result above shows that, the
respondents that agreed with the research are higher than those that disagreed
on this table.
