Cunningham Lindsey International Graduate Loss Adjuster – Liability Job Vacancy in London

Salary: £23k plus bonus and benefits.

Cunningham Lindsey are looking for strong legal graduates with initiative, character and a high level of determination in what is a challenging but rewarding profession.

This job entails investigating the circumstances of how an accident has occurred on a construction site and then assessing whether our client has a liability under contract or in tort. You will be corresponding with third party solicitors, either in repudiating or accepting liability. On those cases where our client is liable you will be trained to assess quantum after appointing medical experts on injury cases, or by carrying out surveys of property damage on site. You will have the support of engineers, quantity surveyors and solicitors. Upon negotiation and settlement of the claim you will have to report to insurers.

You will be part of Cunningham Lindsey Construction, the leading team of adjusters in this industrial sector, dealing with employer’s liability and public liability claims on behalf of Contractors and their Insurers. Being on the defendants’ side, you will be trained to investigate and negotiate settlements with claimants’ Solicitors. You will be working amongst other fully qualified solicitors, but this is not a Solicitor Training Contract.

We are the largest operation of its kind in the UK, dealing with the country’s major projects, including the London Olympics, Heathrow Airport, Underground Railways such as Crossrail, Motorways and practically all of London’s largest buildings, including the Shard, Pinnacle and others.

As part of an International group having operations throughout the world, the Construction team is the training ground for our offices overseas. As an example, vacancies currently exist for experienced adjusters in Singapore, Hong Kong, Bangkok, Mexico, Jakarta and the Middle East. In our Latin American office Spanish speakers are required and therefore language graduates will be considered.

The Construction team’s largest area of growth at the moment is in International Construction adjusting and opportunities will exist in this area.

The job calls on a wide range of skills, particularly interpersonal skills. You will need to be practical, level-headed and have the ability to organise a large caseload.

Most of the law graduates who have joined us over the last 7 years have remained with our company and have gone on to become valuable members of our company both in the UK and overseas.

Candidates are invited to apply in writing, with CV, by 19th August 2011, to Rupert Travis via the email address below:
