Territory on Thursday granted bail to one Rufua Alabi, 42, who is standing
trial for allegedly impregnating his 16-year-old daughter.

Alabi of Kurudu village, was arraigned by the police before Justice Umar
Kagarko on April 30 on a one-count charge of putting his daughter, a minor, in
the family way.

The police accused Alabi of having sex with his biological daughter sometime in
2012, which resulted in a six-month-old pregnancy as at the date of his
arraignment.
The accused had pleaded not guilty and has since April been remanded in Keffi
Prison.
Kagarko, in his ruling, admitted the accused to bail in the sum of N100,000 and
a surety in like sum.
He also ordered that the surety must sign a bond to guarantee the accused
person’s appearance in court to face trial.
He also ordered that the daughter should be separated from her father (accused
person) pending the conclusion of the case in court.
The case was adjourned to July 1, for further hearing.
