Peter
(2003) stated that tuberculosis of the lung (pulmonary tuberculosis) is a
chronic contagious disease that anyone can contact. He went further to say that
the tubercule bacillus was discovered and isolated by Dr. Robert Kosh, hence it
is also referred to as Kosh’s disease.

Kumar
(2007) defines tuberculosis as an infectious disease caused by mycobacterium
tuberculosis which can affect anyone. He also said that it usually involve the
lungs and also occurs in the kidney, bones, adrenal gland, lymph nodes can be
disseminated throughout the body.
The
Federal Ministry of Health states that tuberculosis (TB) is an infectious
disease caused by a bacterium, mycobacterium tuberculosis. It usually affects
the lungs (pulmonary tuberculosis) but other parts of the body can also be
affected.
Landam
(2003) defines tuberculosis as a life threatening disease which normally
affects the lungs but involves almost all parts of the body.
