around the world and expanding access to care and treatment for HIV/AIDS, malaria
and other illnesses. Based on the premise that business oriented strategy can
facilitate solutions to global health challenges, CHAI acts as a catalyst to
mobilize new resources and optimize the impact of these resources to save
lives, via improved organization of commodity
markets and more effective local
management. By working in association with governments and other NGO partners,
CHAI is focused on large scale impact and, to date, CHAI has secured lower
pricing agreements for treatment options in more than 70 countries. In
addition, CHAI’s teams are working side-by-side with over 30 governments to
tackle many of the largest barriers to effective treatment and care.

It is in line with
above that CHAI is currently implementing a nutrition program in partnership
with the Government of Rwanda and other partners with the aim of contributing
to the fight against malnutrition in Rwanda. This program aims at developing
highly nutritive products which when consumed will reduce chronic malnutrition
among Rwandan children. The product will use locally sourced agricultural
produce notably maize and soy beans.
CHAI is looking for
an Agriculture Program Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Associate to support
its Nutrition Program to assess its impact on farmer incomes and agriculture
productivity.
Summary of
the position:
The Agriculture
Program M&E Associate will be responsible for designing and implementing
the M&E activities of the agriculture program ensuring the completion of
studies are in alignment with the project’s timelines.
In this role the
M&E Associate will develop and implement a workplan and identify all the
necessary tools for conducting different monitoring and evaluation activities
such as seasonal agriculture surveys, physical yield measurements and
collection of stakeholders feedback. In addition, the Agriculture Program
M&E Associate should assist the Nutrition program management team in
preparing quarterly/annual reports on program progress. The candidate must
therefore exhibit outstanding communications skills while driving her/his work
stream forward under tight deadlines.
She or he must be
comfortable working independently and have a deep personal commitment to
producing the highest quality results with minimum supervision. CHAI places

- Design,
coordinate, and manage project monitoring plans and impact studies - Provide
quality-control oversight to evaluation inputs - Ensure
the integrity of the methodology, processes, and comparability of
evaluation findings - Identify
all the material and tools needed for the study - Design
and conduct trainings on agriculture monitoring and evaluation topics - Design
and conceptualize data collection and analysis methods - Participating
in relevant workshops and meetings with stakeholders when requested - Advising
the CHAI Rwanda Nutrition Team on the monitoring of the Agronomic best
practices implementation - Conduct
other monitorincg & evaluation project support, as directed - Manage
multiple request, concurrent tasks, prioritizing time and focus
