Description
Green Schools Nova Scotia is a unique program designed to promote
sustainability in Nova Scotia’s Schools. Building on existing strengths within
participating schools, Green Schools Nova Scotia staff help schools to plan for
sustainable change over time within their whole school community, to engage
their school population, and to connect to resources and opportunities that
augment those plans. Currently a pilot project until March 2012, the Green
Schools Nova Scotia program works with 16 schools across the province and is
recruiting and adding more schools in the New Year.
Our aim is to facilitate a culture of sustainability in Nova Scotia’s schools,
create leaders, help them to track the improvements they make, and to share
their success stories with other schools and the greater population.
The successful candidate will be interacting with participating and recruited
schools, staff, community members and students. They must possess excellent
time management, presentation and interpersonal skills. There will be travel
involved with occasional overnight stays necessary, so familiarity with
standard desktop technology for online updating of tracking reports and social
media will be essential.
Clean Nova Scotia is a fun, diverse workplace with a laid-back style and
passionate staff. We house a variety of programs allowing opportunity for
cross-pollination and relationship building with other organizations. Our
approach is always collaborative and team oriented.
