CHAI Rwanda Associate, Strategy and Business Development Job Vacancy in Kigali, Rwanda

The CHAI Rwanda program is currently seeking a
highly motivated, flexible individual to provide technical support to the
Rwanda Biomedical Center (RBC), Ministry of Health, on revenue generation and
operational efficiency. Candidates must have excellent analytical skills, and
outstanding communications skills and cultural sensitivity, as they will be
working closely with MoH partners. They must be able to manage multiple tasks
and drive multiple work plans forward. They must exhibit a passion for results

Responsibilities:
  • Coach and support the Head of Divisions at RBC
    toward the application of a business mindset to strategy and operation
    within their division. This will include coaching and supporting the
    development of profit and loss statements, the development of operational
    efficiency and growth strategies, and the creation of financial forecast
    models;
  • Interface with, and build the capacity of,
    supporting functions (Finance, Planning, and Business Development);
  • Coach senior management through the assessment
    and implementation of major new business initiatives, through the
    introduction of new products or services, and/or the creation of
    public-private business models;
  • Perform other work on an as needed based (e.g.
    assist on proof reading of documents, or assist in writing news articles);
  • Participate in relevant workshops and meetings
    with stakeholders.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in business,
    accounting, finance, or economics;
  • 5 years minimum experience in the field or
    business development, investment banking, and/or cultivating a startup;
  • Excellent analytical skills, and prior
    analytical experience;
  • Outstanding diplomatic and interpersonal
    skills, and excellent ability to build relationships;
  • Strong communication skills, including the
    ability to synthesize information concisely, and prepare short reports or
    presentations;
  • Ability to multi-task and deliver on multiple
    work streams in high-pressure situations with minimal supervision;
  • Masters in Business Administration preferred;
  • Fluency in English;
  • French and/or Kinyarwanda fluency a plus;
  • Prior experience in East Africa a plus;
  • Expertize on finance a plus; 
  • Prior experience in building capacity of
    government officials a plus.
