Cardno Payroll Manager Job Vacancy in Australia

Due to an internal move, we have an opportunity for a highly experienced
Payroll Manager to join our regional finance team and lead the payroll function
for both the Australia/New Zealand and Emerging Markets regions. Reporting to
the regional CFO and leading a small team of payroll professionals you will be
integral to ensuring legislative compliance throughout these regions as well as
championing process improvement and review of the function.

Specifically, your duties will include –
  • Management of the payroll function for
    Australia, New Zealand, Abu Dhabi and the Emerging Markets Region (2000+
    employees)
  • Coordinating the month end process, ensuring
    regular data integrity checks and reconciliations are completed
  • Management of executive payroll
  • Ensuring statutory compliance relating to the
    payment of Payroll Tax
  • Identifying opportunities for efficiencies and
    driving a culture of process improvement
  • Ensuring the ongoing professional development
    of the payroll team including identifying relevant training and up
    skilling opportunities
  • Management of the year end process including
    reconciliation of Payroll and PAYG tax
  • Management of ongoing maintenance to Aurion
    payroll system including system improvements and delivery of necessary
    training
To be successful you will display –
  • Previous experience in managing the payroll
    function across a large, corporate business (exposure to international
    payroll preferred)
  • Previous experience using Aurion preferred (or
    similar, large payroll system)
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and mentoring
    a payroll team
  • Demonstrated success in identifying and
    implementing process improvement to the payroll function
  • A customer service focus towards the function,
    ensuring that a professional and courteous service is delivered to
    internal and external customers
  • Well-developed time management skills to be
    able to prioritise competing tasks and manage stakeholder expectations
