Wellington Regional Hospital is the newest hospital in New Zealand and one of 5 tertiary level teaching hospitals in the country. It is a state of the art facility with innovative models of care.

Immunology, Capital and Coast District Health Board, is seeking expressions of interest for a locum position. Clinical Immunology services are based within the Respiratory Medicine Department and provides treatment and advice for a variety of clinical conditions, including connective tissue vasculitis, HIV and allergy. Clinical Immunology is a critical component of the multidisciplinary management of severe and debilitating chronic disease, and the Clinical Immunologist plays a key role in the choice and coordination of specialty input for these complex patients.

As our senior medical officer for the team, you are assigned a registrar. Most of the work is carried out through outpatient clinics however there is some inpatient consulting to other health professionals.

Ideally we are looking for an Immunologist with extensive experience in clinical immunology. It would be a bonus for us if you also have experience in immunopathology and could work an extra 0.2 FTE in this subspecialty. Your qualification for this sub specialty will be equivalent to Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia.

You must have trained in the speciality through the Royal Australasian College of Physicians or have an equivalent specialist qualification and be eligible for vocational registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand.
