Our
company located in Sydney’s West is currently seeking an experienced Fire
Services Designer to develop detailed design drawings and related
specifications with a focus on Wet systems. We offer an opportunity to join a

The primary objectives of the role consist of the preparation of detailed
design drawings and documentation for

fire sprinkler, fire hydrant, and
combined systems for contract projects in accordance with the BCA and AS
requirements. Also imperative is the ability to manage the design work in a
manner that maintains project estimates and forecasts and ensures materials and
equipment are delivered within project timeframes.

Key
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Prepare
    detailed drawings and plans of fire sprinkler and hydrant systems
    including, water supplies, pumps and storage tanks.
  • Carry
    out field work, including site inspections for design coordination and
    installation auditing.
  • Utilize
    AutoCAD (2D & 3D) software to prepare drawings and utilize specific
    software to carry out hydraulic calculations and develop designs.
  • Liaise
    with clients and colleagues to ensure design development meets their
    requirements.
  • Program
    and scheduling to meet project requirements.
  • Prepare
    list of materials and order materials, ensuring compliance with
    specifications and regulations.
  • Carry
    out cost analysis regularly to monitor project budgeting.
  • Utilize
    Microsoft Office suite, including Excel, Word and Outlook.
Qualifications,
Knowledge and Experience
  • Minimum
    3 years industry experience in a similar role.
  • Exceptional
    knowledge of AutoCAD.
  • Experience
    using Hyena hydraulic calculation software.
  • Knowledge
    of the relevant Australian Standards and BCA Code required.
  • Computer
    literacy in the use of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability
    to work independently and unsupervised.
  • Ability
    to read and interpret documents such as design specifications, contracts,
    safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure
    manuals.
  • Ability
    to prepare routine reports and correspondence.
  • Diploma
    of Fire Systems Design advantageous but not required.
