or products. The work involves changes in the chemical composition or physical
state of materials and requires primarily application of knowledge of the
principles and practices of chemical engineering, chemistry and other
scientific and engineering disciplines.
1.Outline assignments for chemists and support staff based on skills and
abilities.
2.Plan analytical procedures use in complex analysis situations by adapting
standard company procedures or devising local procedures where necessary.
3.Supervise the conduct of chemical analyses determining the presence/quantity
of chemical products.
4.Oversee special chemical investigations requested by the corporate office and
review report before issue.
5.Review changes to company chemical analysis manual and approve for issue.
6.Establish value on standard samples and check accuracy of laboratory weights,
balances and volumetric glassware.
7.Review monthly inventory of chemical supplies and equipment.
8.May substitute for manager of chemical engineering in his or her absence and
participate in monthly facility staff meetings. Represent company at industry
technical meetings and trade shows as required.

- Diploma or
Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s degree or equivalent in chemistry, or
chemical engineering. - At least three
years of experience in manufacturing industry at the laboratory or mill
process level.
