Laboratory Manager to take responsibility for the start-up of our new
laboratory at our newly refurbished Meat Processing Facility.

is a newly created role, and requires someone that is comfortable and fully
competent with setting up and initiating the necessary system requirements to
enable our laboratory to gain accreditation.

This
position will lead the Laboratory and manage a small team of Laboratory QA
staff. To be successful in this role you will need to:

- Be
fully competent in the implementation of all the necessary system
requirements to enable a new startup laboratory to gain NATA accreditation
then supervising the onsite meat micro laboratory to meet Department of
Agriculture and NATA requirements;
(Preference would be given to
applicants with NATA signatory authority to run a meat micro laboratory with
current knowledge of all NATA rules/requirements);

- Be
proficient in ESAM testing, TVC, coliform, environmental surface swabbing,
calf antibacterial testing and maintenance of relevant reference cultures; - Have
previous experience in the supervision of laboratory staff and providing
necessary training of trainee Laboratory staff; - Have
the ability to strictly monitor sampling procedures and laboratory
procedures; - Be
comfortable providing direction to key company staff to solve daily plant
issues and implement short, medium and long term solutions to eliminate
processing issues; - Be
proficient in providing technical advice to company directors and fellow
managers on new laboratory systems, improvements in quality systems and
new technologies available to the food processing sector; - Have
the ability to introduce new test methods into the laboratory that will
save the company money by bringing outsourced tests under Company control; - Take
responsibility for the supervision and training of staff at our Rendering
facility laboratory and - Carry
out testing and reporting on samples from the company’s other processing
facilities.
