We
are
looking
for professional, caring teachers who have a passion for supporting learners in
becoming enthusiastic readers and writers or mathematicians. The work can
be designed around one to four evenings a week, teaching for 2-4
hours.
ARRENDELL
Education

provides extension courses for high achieving students who are keen to further
develop their skills in English or Mathematics, as well as tuition for students
who are experiencing difficulty or lacking confidence.
The
Centre also specialises in preparing students for the selective school,
scholarship and OC exams. 
ARRENDELL
is
a ‘teachers’ heaven’ being a relaxed and friendly environment in which to
work.  We have former principals, literacy lecturers and experienced
teachers on staff.

to the growth in the program, several positions are presently

Information
ARRENDELL
Education
was
established by Gwenda Sanderson in 1977 with the provision of services from her
home in Adamstown Heights. ARRENDELLhas since moved into new state
of the art facilities at Charlestown this year. 250 students attend weekly
and there is a PT staff of 16.

ARRRENDELL Education 
has inspired, tutored and
mentored over 20,000 thousands of primary and secondary Newcastle
students, paving the way for their future success. 
Professional
Responsibilities
  • Teaching
    group or individual lessons
  • Introducing
    students to latest books and authors
  • Developing
    student’s writing skills
  • Preparing
    students to become outstanding mathematicians
  • Providing
    feedback to parents
Essential
Criteria
  • Appropriate
    degree, teaching diploma and registration are essential.
  • Significant
    experience in Australia or NZ in teaching English to primary
    students.
  • Teaching
    experience in NSW and familiarity with the National Curriculum
    requirements.
  • Availability
    for either 1, 2, 3 or 4 after school sessions
  • Engaging
    personality and rapport with students, parents and colleagues
