Archaeological Institute of America Archaeology of Portugal Fellowship

Archaeological
Institute of America is offering Archaeology fellowship to support
projects pertaining to the archaeology of Portugal. Portuguese, American
and other international scholars are invited to apply. Projects will be
conducted between July 1 of the award year and the following June 30.
These
include, but are not limited to, research projects, colloquia, symposia, publication
and travel for research or to academic meetings for the purpose of presenting
papers on the archaeology of Portugal.

The
Archaeological Institute of America (AIA) is North America’s oldest and largest
organization devoted to the world of archaeology.
The
Institute is a nonprofit group founded in 1879 and chartered by the United
States Congress in 1906. Today, the AIA has nearly 210,000 Members and more
than 100 Local Societies in the United States, Canada, and overseas.

Eligibility for the Scholarship:

    Portuguese, American, and other
    international scholars are invited to apply. To be eligible, applicants
    must be members of the AIA at the time of application and until the end of
    the fellowship term.
  • Entrance
    Requirements:
    To be eligible, applicants must
    have been AIA members in good standing for at least two consecutive years
    (one year for graduate students). Portuguese, American, and other
    international scholars are invited to apply.
  • English
    Language Requirements: 
    Applicants from
    outside the home country will often need to meet specific English
    language/other language requirements in order to be able to study there.
