The position will include a requirement to work closely with other functional areas such as the Site General Managers, Regional Security Managers, Security Governance Group and Global Internal Audit and external investigators as may be appointed from time to time by the Office of General Counsel, ABG.

KEY RESULT AREAS/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Overall management and strategic direction of the investigations function for the business in Tanzania.
• Overall management and strategic direction of the Asset Protection Unit (APU) to ensure delivery against the APU strategic objectives and to quality control the transition of actionable information into positive investigative outcomes.
• Overall management of risk surrounding the collection of information from technical and human sources and its ongoing use.
• Conduct and manage high level targeted investigations into organised, syndicated crime both internal and external to the business.
• Provide high quality written assessments and reports relating to investigations and prosecutions, internal and external.
• Overall management of internal and external prosecutions.
• Manage organisational change activity and effectively plan and communicate proposed changes with staff and stakeholders.
• Develop and implement business plans in line with ABG’s security operating model and strategy.
• Manage resources and ensure financial control of local budgets.
• Work collaboratively with staff and colleagues, to promote high performance and adherence to corporate values.
• To manage issues relating to the performance and conduct of staff.
• Contribute to site and regional training and mentoring of investigators.
• Overall management of the CCTV function throughout the business.
• Represent ABG internally and externally at a senior level to meet corporate and partner requirements.
• Foster, develop and maintain high level relationships with key stakeholders, including voluntary, NGO and Government Agencies.
• Provision of high level advice to sites in relation to crime trends and appropriate control and preventative measures.
PROFESSIONAL SKILLS
Education Requirements:
• Undergraduate degree in a security related field or a minimum of 25years practical experience in security investigations or law enforcement investigations.
• Formal accredited training as a Senior Investigating Officer and proven experience in criminal investigation case management.
Experience Requirements:
• Extensive experience and demonstrated understanding of forensic science and its application in criminal investigations.
• Demonstrated experience in managing as a Senior Investigating Officer, large scale serious and complex criminal investigations, both proactive and reactive.
• Formal training in handling and management of technical and human assets and information.
• Proven experience in managing proactive and reactive anti corruption operations.
• Experience of working in an international environment.
• Formal accredited training in hostage negotiation and anti kidnap operations.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.
• Extensive knowledge in gold mining processes.
• Kiswahili language skills would be an advantage.
