Private Sector
Partnerships Specialist, Uganda
We are currently seeking a
Private Sector Partnerships Specialist for an anticipated USAID-funded Feed the
Future activity in Uganda titled Youth Leadership for Agriculture. This
upcoming multi-year USAID-funded program in Uganda will focus on increasing
economic opportunities for hundreds of thousands of Ugandan female and male
youth ages 10 to 35 in agriculture-related fields in order to increase incomes
and build entrepreneurship, leadership, and workforce readiness.
The Private Sector Partnerships
Specialist is responsible for technical leadership and oversight for activities
under Objective One: Increased incomes of youth working in agricultural value
chains. The Private Sector Partnerships Specialist must have the following
minimum requirements for this position:
Responsibilities:
- Develop a facilitative market systems approach to
improve relationships and networks among value chain actors and youth. - Facilitate and coordinate efforts to use strategic
investments to encourage private sector actors to provide technical
assistance, training, mentoring, and increased market access opportunities
for youth. - Assist in scaling up core private sector relationships
to large groups of youth throughout Uganda. - Enhance the role of women and girls and provide gender
sensitive programming.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 6 years of international experience in
business or agriculture development. - Must have excellent track record of achieving results in
private sector-led development activities, preferably in agriculture. - Must have demonstrated high level technical, analytical,
and interpersonal skills. - Minimum of a Master’s degree in economics, agricultural
economics, business, international development, public policy, law, or
other relevant field. A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with 10
years of experience may be substituted for a Master’s degree. - Must have strong English written and oral communication
skills.
