FVPLS Victoria is a
community controlled orga

nisation managed by a Board of Directors.  
Under the direction of the Directors, the Chief Executive Officer is
responsible for managing  the activities and resources of FVPLS Victoria.

The Department of
Priminster and Cabinet has provided funding to FVPLS Victoria under a Standard
Funding Agreement (SFA) enabling the establishment of the National FVPLS Forum
(National Forum), comprising 14 National Forum Members, supported by a
Secretariat to be staffed by a Manager with administrative/policy support.

The Forum’s goal is
to work in collaboration across FVPLS services and increase access to justice
for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander victims/survivors of family violence.

The Forum provides
advice and input to Government and ensures a unified FVPLS response to
addressing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander family violence. The Forum has
worked with members to develop tools for capacity building, good governance,
professional development, training, and data collection and evaluation.

In accordance with
the Charter of the National FVPLS Forum, the Manager National Secretariat will
be responsible for:

  • Coordinating
    national teleconferences and other meetings and activities to support the
    networking/collaboration of National Forum Members and others as required;
  • Supporting
    the National Forum and the National Convenor in its policy and advocacy
    work, including in the drafting of policy submissions, media releases,
    speeches and other related work
  • Representing
    the National Forum at forums. 
  • undertake
    travel including visits to FVPLS member organisations located in regional
    and remote locations in Australia;
  • overseeing
    the National secretariat budget which includes capacity building funding
    for forum members as well as Royal Commission into Institutional Reponses
    to Sexual Abuse.
