LAND CONFLICT SPECIALIST, LAND CONFLICT RESOLUTION PROJECT, LIBERIA
Tetra Tech ARD (www.ardinc.com) is accepting expressions of interest from qualified Land Conflict Specialist candidates for an upcoming land conflict resolution project in Liberia. Candidates should possess demonstrated expertise in one or more of the following areas: informal and formal dispute resolution systems in rural settings, mitigation of land grabbing and subsequent conflict, and resettlement facilitation. Experience in capacity building, facilitation and training, and working with vulnerable groups is extremely desirable.

Responsibilities
— Co-design conflict transformation strategies and facilitate public outreach meetings that include gender integration;
— Collaborate on assessments and recommendations on conflict resolution, based on formal and informal systems;
— Provide technical oversight and assistance in training, monitoring and mentoring aspects of the project;
— Develop and test methodologies for resolving land disputes;
— Train local land authorities to provide mediation and/or arbitration services;
— Develop training modules and operational manuals for applying tested methodology for resolution of disputes at the community level; and
— Oversee multiple program areas simultaneously (including customary, formal, and informal modes of tenure and dispute resolution, facilitation of meetings and workshops, monitoring and evaluation, among others).

Essential Qualifications
— Master’s Degree in anthropology, political science, or related social science;
— Minimum 10 years of experience implementing and conflict resolution, land administration, formal and informal tenure and conflict resolution systems, or other land conflict related work, preferably in West Africa;
— Prior experience on USAID projects preferred, with a good understanding and knowledge of USG regulations, administration, management, reporting of procedures and systems;
— Demonstrated ability to lead, manage, and mentor multi-disciplinary teams;
— Demonstrated ability to address gender and conflict resolution as cross-cutting project themes;
— Strong interpersonal, analytical, and writing skills;
— Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines; and
— English fluency required.
