Sacred Heart Mission is a progressive, not for profit organisation which proactively assists some of the most disadvantaged people in our community through a variety of integrated programs.
Located at 87 Grey Street in St Kilda, Sacred Heart Central delivers a range of services including meals, assertive engagement, advocacy, case management, support for the aged and recreation.
A position exists for a storeman/driver to help with our food rescue program. We need a well-organised, energetic person to join our high-volume free Meals Program which provides nutritious restaurant meals to some of Melbourne’s homeless and most disadvantaged people every day of the year.
You will need to be:
• committed to social justice
• able to manage a tight daily pick-up, delivery and storage schedule
• supervise volunteers
• liaise with donors, service users and busy chefs
• be scrupulous about food hygiene & stock rotation
• be vigilant about OHS
• hold a current Victorian driver’s licence
• pass police and working with children police checks
• have the physical ability and know-how to perform safe, heavy lifting
Food hygiene qualifications and computer skills would be an advantage for this full-time position.
